Clinical Nutrition Manager, Health Central Hospital

Arelys Villafane is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and has a position as Clinical Nutrition Manager at Orlando Health-Health Central Hospital. She has been working with malnutrition diagnosis and coding for the past two years and is currently tracking data to reduce missed opportunities for hospital reimbursement. Arelys works closely with CDI team at the hospital to improve accuracy of malnutrition documentation and coding. She has presented her malnutrition project results and initiatives with the rest of the Orlando Health System and other hospitals.

Senior Director, Coding and HIM Operations, ECLAT Health Solutions

Marie Thomas, MHA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, CPC-H has been working with ECLAT since 2008 and is also an AHIMA ICD-10 Ambassador. As a Senior Director, Coding and HIM Operations, Marie is in charge of directly supervising the US Quality Assurance (USQA)  and coding teams while effectively managing client accounts and relationships. Her role also consists of monitoring, mentoring, and maintaining the quality of our coders’ work while adhering to our clients’ specifications and coding guidelines. Marie works closely with the coding teams and updates them about any changes in the guidelines thus ensuring that our clients’ expectations are always met if not, exceeded.

With more than thirty years of career-related experience specifically focused on revenue cycle management, her diverse leadership, application, and training expertise in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and DRG, plays an essential role in ECLAT’s success. Her attention to detail and flexibility for adapting to all HIM changes has helped ECLAT’s clients overcome any challenges in today’s healthcare environment.

Marie Thomas holds a Masters Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC. Marie has furthered her career education by becoming an AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and Ambassador as well as earning the RHIT, CCS, CCDS, and CPC-H credentials.

Giovanna Govea

Corporate Communications Specialist

Giovanna Govea has been with ECLAT since 2014. As a Corporate Communications Specialist, Giovanna facilitates much of the internal communication within the company providing support to ECLAT’s C-Level Executives and senior colleagues in the Sales and Operations departments. She is also in charge of coordinating external affairs related to trade show logistics, marketing, employee engagement, and using her networking talent to help ECLAT continue to grow as a business. Her experience organizing campaigns through various methods of communications continue to keep ECLAT at the edge of innovation.

Giovanna Govea holds a B.A. degree in Persuasive Communications with a Minor in Sustainability Studies from George Mason University and is currently pursuing her RHIA credential from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
